Simile
- A simile is comparing something to something else. E.g As playful as a kitten.
Metaphor
- A metaphor is comparing two things that arent alike but have something in common. E.g My brother is a piglet.
Idiom
- An idiom is saying something the it meaning something else from it's literal meaing. E.g You hit the nail on the head!
Alliteration
- An alliteration is where words have the same starting letter. E.g She sells sha shells by the sea-shore
Hyperbole
- A hyperbole is used to add on exaggeration. E.g Iv'e told you to clean your room a million times!
Personification
- Personification is used to give a animal or object quatlites that only a human would have. E.g The car was suffering and needed some TLC
Onomatopeia
- This is a word that actully looks like the sound it make. E.g BOOM! POW!
Assoance
- An assoance is a repetition of vowel sounds. E.g Oh, how the eveing light fades over the lake
Consonance
-An consonance is the repetition of the same consonant in a short prhase or sentence E.g Thank you for the drink of water.
