For you to be intrigued and want to see who wins in the so called lottery this story is good because you only find out what the lottery actually is until the last moments of the story.
7.Why do you think the lottery is a dystopian story ?Because it turns out to be a story where people think killing somebody will help their crops grow,Instead of the lottery being a grand prize you win, If you win the lottery you are sent to die.

Yes it reminds me of the book "The Giver" by Lois Lowry.
